One of the best parts about running a company serving jiu-jitsu players is the incredible stories we hear from our customers.
We love Karim's story because of his brilliant combination of strength and technique that he has developed in his bright journey in BJJ.
Manteca, CA. White Belt.
Why did you first get into jiu-jitsu?
I've always been attracted to the art of Jiu Jitsu. I think it's beautiful, and wanted to be a part of that.
What has been the biggest obstacle in your journey and how have you overcome it?
I have a powerlifting/bodybuilding background, so it's been a challenge to focus on technique and not rely on pure strength. It's slowly coming together.
Tell us about your best (or worst) submission story.
My worst submission story was from a NABJJF tournament last year in Oakland, where I forgot my training, didn't address my oponent's grip on my collar, and had to tap to a choke after about 90 seconds in to the match.
Share one piece of advice you have for our community.
Never quit. Enjoy the journey and the emotional and spiritual growth that BJJ will bring to your life.
