One of the best parts about running a company serving jiu-jitsu players is the incredible stories we hear from our customers.
We love Lucas's story because from being a big fan, he made his way to a purple belt in BJJ.
Luke Christopher Beavis
Saskatchewan, CA. Purple Belt.
Why did you first get into jiu-jitsu?
After watching ufc I became I big fan of George st Pierre so I started training karate. After a few years of karate I tried jiujitsu at my local gym and enjoyed it a lot more and eventually started competing more and more.
What has been the biggest obstacle in your journey and how have you overcome it?
My toughest obstacle would probably have to be breaking my ankle while longboarding back when I was bluebelt. I was very stubborn about making my ankle come back to 100% so I spent everyday doing my rehab for 2 months and I was very focused. I feel like that was a big obstacle because I didn't know if it would be the same or not.
Tell us about your best (or worst) submission story.
it's hard to tell what my best submission story is but my worst one was one year at nogi worlds my opening round I lost by ankle lock. My ankle popped a lot and I tapped. I think the worst part about it is that I cut a lot of weight and I arrived at the venue like 10 mins before my match. This day taught me a very good lesson, and I learnt a lot from it...
