One of the best parts about running a company serving jiu-jitsu players is the incredible stories we hear from our customers.
We love Ray's story because of his willingness and desire to learn BJJ brought him to his Blue belt.
Charles town, WV. Blue Belt.
Why did you first get into jiu-jitsu?
It started as a way to hang out with my younger brother and wanted to experience the world. I didn't realize it would be so addicting. I started or signed up at school near my house, Spectrum Academy. Then I switched jobs and started going to my brother's school, Evolve Academy. Started out as a way to bond with my brother and then became a lifestyle. I was 240lbs when i started and now I float around 197-200. Did 2 tournaments for the old man division Silver no gi grapplers quest (i think) Silver gi IBJJF
What has been the biggest obstacle in your journey and how have you overcome it?
Slow learner. For me i have to keep coming to class in order to remember any moves. Work gets in the way. So I try to train whenever or wherever I can. Luckily I have 3 schools to visit and learn from different people and learn different styles.
Tell us about your best (or worst) submission story.
I really don't have one. I just get lucky and my go to move when it's available is the head arm triangle. Worse submission, anything that has inverted anything.

The Journey is never ending. New lessons to be learned all the time every time. Enjoy the ride and the brotherhood
