Bo Dean Nickal is a talented American athlete who has excelled in both wrestling and mixed martial arts. He won three NCAA Division I national championships and three Big Ten Conference championships while wrestling for Pennsylvania State University.

Nickal also claimed the 2019 U23 World Championship and the US Open national championship in freestyle wrestling. In recognition of his achievements, he was awarded the Dan Hodge Trophy as the nation's most outstanding collegiate wrestler in 2019.

Biography

Bo Nickal comes from an athletic family, with his parents both having been college athletes. His father, Jason Nickal, coached him as a youth, and his mother, Sandy Nickal, is a former amateur boxer. Nickal is a devout Christian and finds his faith to be a source of strength and perspective.

He has also expressed admiration for John Smith, a two-time Olympic gold medalist wrestler, and enjoys playing spikeball and watching American football. Nickal is married to Maddie Holmberg, whose father, Rob Holmberg, also played football at Penn State and in the NFL.
