Guilherme Mendes is a Brazilian jiu-jitsu expert who has achieved great success in the sport. He is known for his skills in the "peso pluma" (lightweight) category and is a member of the Atos Jiu-Jitsu team.

Mendes has won numerous gold medals at prestigious competitions, including the International Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Federation (IBJJF) World Championship. He is also the co-founder of the Art of Jiu-Jitsu academy and the brother of another famous jiu-jitsu competitor, Rafael Mendes.

Biography

Guilherme Mendes started training Brazilian jiu-jitsu with his younger brother Rafael in 2001. Under the guidance of coach Ramon Lemos, the Mendes brothers quickly became successful in the sport. They won numerous gold medals at various competitions and were recognized as rising stars in the jiu-jitsu community.

In 2012, Guilherme and Rafael moved to the United States and opened their own gym in California. In 2015, at the age of 26, Guilherme announced his retirement from competitive jiu-jitsu to focus on teaching and family life.
