Lucas “Hulk” Barbosa is a black belt Jiu Jitsu practitioner under Andre Fabiano, a popular name in the grappling community as he was a competitor for Marcio Rodrigues’ team. The Hulk’s fame came in 2014 after he dominated “THE TEAM” episodes, a web-based show by Copa Podio.

He was called “Hulk” because of his exceptional physical abilities, especially with throwing and pressure passing.

Biography

Born in Brazil in 1992, Lucas Barbosa wasn't always a jiu-jitsu star. He dabbled in swimming, basketball, and even other martial arts like taekwondo before discovering jiu-jitsu at 15.

Lucas trained under different coaches, but it was moving to Rio and joining Márcio Rodrigues' gym that really took his grappling skills to the next level. There, he honed his technique and competed fiercely, becoming a national name in grappling and eventually earning his black belt in 2015.
