After starting Jiu-Jitsu, he joined Team Nogueira but initially focused on MMA. It was only after winning a Jiu-Jitsu tournament that he truly committed to the sport. A turning point came when he met Lloyd Irvin during a competition. Impressed by Aly's talent, Irvin invited him to train in the US.

While initially declining, Aly eventually accepted and started dominating the Jiu-Jitsu circuit. His impressive wins led to a black belt under Irvin in 2015, solidifying his status as a rising star in the sport.
