Gold BJJ Knee Brace Size Chart

This is a size chart for our Jiu Jitsu knee brace. Sizing is best done via leg circumference (measure 5" above the knee), but we also provide an approximate weight range.

Not quite sure what size to get? Stick with the size shorts you wear. Brace sizing is pretty consistent with shorts sizing. If you always wear Large shorts, a Large knee brace will probably fit you just fine without measuring your leg circumference.

The Ultimate Knee Brace
for Jiu Jitsu

Our knee brace provides light stabilization and compression for Jiu Jitsu training, helping support sore or previously injured knees without limiting movement.

It features:

  • Low-profile side stabilizers (providing some support, but slim enough that they won't bug your training partners)
  • Anti-slip neoprene liner so they don't slide down
  • Patella gel pad for kneecap protection
  • Dual elastic bands to secure the brace in place and provide additional compression

Designed for Grappling

Our knee braces were designed with grappling in mind, using feedback from our athlete team during regular Jiu Jitsu training. We focused on fit, comfort, and durability through common movements like shooting takedowns, passing guard, and leg entanglements.

They’re meant to be simple and functional: low-profile, comfortable under training gear, and easy to wear for long sessions. No extra features, no stiff materials that could injure your training partners... just a knee brace that does what it’s supposed to do during everyday training.

What Knee Braces Can
(and Can't) Do

We've all seen the ads from companies slinging knee braces claiming to get you back onto the mats 3 days after a torn ACL... that ain't us.

Knee braces can provide compression, a sense of support, and added awareness of knee position during training. For many athletes, this can help with general soreness, mild instability, or confidence when returning to regular mat time after an injury.

What they can’t do is prevent all knee injuries or replace proper strength training, mobility work, or rehab. We view knee braces as a practical training aid best used alongside smart training and long-term knee care.

Really good but room for improvement

I am bone on bone after a couple surgeries on my left knee, I really like these braces and prefer them to the Anacondas, the anacondas feel a little bit too bulky for me. I bought 2 of these to try, liked them, and immediately bought 2 more. The only downside is that the adhesive on the parts that have velcro starts to wear down after several washes so you are left with flaps of velcro hanging off, and on one or two the main velcro pad is starting to peel off at the edges. On one or two also the straps themselves are starting to fray around the edges. The braces are still functional at this point so for 30 bucks it really isn't the end of the world. These are new products and I'm sure Gold will continue developing them until they are perfect. The other thing that would be nice is if they offered a version without the metal spring side supports as technically these aren't IBJJF legal. Overall a really great product with a little bit of room for improvement. I love the protection it offers for those of us with high mileage knees.

Great compression

Great compression, worth the money. Velcro for the straps slips from time to time.

I’ve had this knee brace since march 23

I’ve had this knee brace since march 23, 2026. Used it since April 18th 2026. After IBJJF Chicago open it fell apart the strap material started tear. The velcro square above the knee, where you place the straps fell off as well. Very good knee brace, but fell apart too quick. Was pretty bummed out about this because I was looking forward to using this way much more for my torn meniscus.
