Matheus Diniz: Jiu Jitsu Athlete Profile

Matheus “King Kong” Diniz is one of the most exciting Jiu Jitsu practitioners that have come from Marcelo Garcia Academy in New York City. When he was still a brown belt Jiu Jitsu student, he already won the IBJJF World No Gi Championships in 2013 and 2014.

In 2015, he also joined the Pan American Championships and won. By 2018, he was already crowned as the Middleweight Champion at the Kasai Pro 2 Event in New York City.

Biography

Matheus Diniz was born in the state of Minas Gerais on April 8, 1993.He started his martial arts journey when he was 10 years old. However, he was a mischievous kid so he was expelled from school.

At the age of 15, he accidentally became a BJJ student after he went to fight with a boy who was a Jiu Jitsu student back then. Instead of fighting in the gym, the coach, Rodrigo Ranieri, encouraged Matheus to learn Jiu Jitsu.
