Nicky Ryan is a 23-year-old black belt Jiu Jitsu practitioner trained by John Danaher, who was once a key member of the Renzo Gracie Academy in New York.

At 13 years old, Nicky Ryan became popular as he was winning tournaments that are meant for adults. His talented flourish further and he became a part of professional circuit where he become the youngest athlete to compete at the ADCC World Championship in 2017.

Biography

Nicky Ryan began training jiu-jitsu at 8 years old, but it wasn't until he was 15 that his dedication truly took root. Seeing his brother's success and enjoying the sport more himself, Nicky ramped up his training, even leaving traditional schooling to focus on grappling. This intense training, including heel hooks from the very beginning, led him to win adult tournaments at just 13. His talent and early success made him a rising star in the jiu-jitsu world.

Nicky's competition achievements were impressive. He placed 3rd at the tough ADCC East Coast Trials at 15 and 16, earning him an invitation to the World Championships at 16, becoming the youngest competitor ever. He earned his purple belt at 16, a rare feat, and continued to progress through the ranks to black belt in 2020.
