Pedro Marinho is a Brazilian jiu-jitsu practitioner born in Angra dos Reis, Rio de Janeiro. He started his martial arts journey with capoeira at the age of 7 and later explored Thai boxing and Western boxing. At 17, he discovered jiu-jitsu and trained under Master Reinaldo Fernandes.

In 2017, Marinho joined the FP Golden Team, a program designed to nurture talented athletes. He impressed Felipe Pena and the team, earning a scholarship to train at their center in Belo Horizonte. Through his connection with Gracie Barra, Marinho met Ulpiano Malachias, who invited him to train in Houston, Texas. Marinho accepted the offer, further advancing his jiu-jitsu skills under the guidance of both Pena and Malachias.
