Biography
Born on June 13, 1996 in Sao Vicente, Renato started his martial arts journey by learning Judo. He started learning BJJ when his father coached a BJJ kids class in 2004. Unlike other kids, Renato spent most of his time training instead of playing games and socializing. He always had a mindset that he will be a world Jiu Jitsu Champion, which he achieved in 2016.
His technique came from different top grapplers around the globe by analyzing their game and incorporating them in his technique. In 2016, Renato went to the United States to join the IBJJF Pan American Championship and worked with Robert Drysdale. Later that year, his father traveled to the US as well to award him his black belt.
