Gold BJJ Gi Size Chart

This size chart is for unisex sizes (A0 to A5) for all of our gis. We also offer our gis in womens' and kids' cuts.

You might find that your frame is suitable for multiple sizes - gi sizing is a matter of personal taste. If you like a tighter, more slim fitting cut you should err toward the smaller size. If you prefer extra room in your gi you can choose the larger size in your range.

While we use pre-shrunk fabric in all of our gis, you can still expect some shrinkage (especially if you're washing in hot water, or tumble drying). A good rule of thumb is heavier weight gis (like our Valiant or Calavera) will shrink more than lighter weight gis (like our Aeroweave). For more information on gi shrinkage, check out this video.

Not sure if you're choosing the right size? We get it, gi sizing can be tricky. That's why we offer totally free pre-paid returns.

The Man in the Arena

Made for competitors (but a great gi for everyone), the Valiant Gi was designed with input from Gold BJJ's actively competing athletes.

Features include:

  • Ultra comfy rash guard neck liner, highlighting Teddy Roosevelt's inspiring "Man in the Arena" speech.
  • Heavyweight jacket and pants for easy grip breaking.
  • Super clean white-on white or black-on-black aesthetic.

Built for Competition

The Valiant Gi is perfect for competitors looking for a heavier, harder to grip gi.

We designed this gi with an extra thick 550gsm Pearl Weave jacket, and heavy duty 12oz ripstop pants.

Ultimate Durability

While this gi was constructed with competition in mind, it's an excellent every day gi - especially in colder climates and seasons.

The heavier weight weave will stand up to even the toughest training sessions.

Please note that our gis do not include belts.

My favorite gi

In my short 3 year BJJ experience, I’ve bought the Foundation, Calavera, and now Valiant Gi. I also bought one gi from another company (nice design, okay…). I love all my Gold BJJ gis and the Valiant is my favorite by far. My buddy grabbed on while drilling and said “Mike brought armor today!” It feels comfortable for me, and I imagine terrible for my opponent when sliding in that cross collar choke. Fits great!

Great Gi

A nice quality gi. It is heavier than some of my other gis but it doesn’t feel uncomfortable or overly hot. I really like the clean design. I’m 6’2 and around 215lbs and I got an A3L. It was too big but after washing and drying it several times it is fitting about right.

Valiant!

I'm about 5'10 and 170 lbs. I purchased the A2L because I have a Cavalera gi in A2 and it has shrunk quite a bit. The A2L fits perfect! The Valiant gi is by far my favorite gi! I have Cavalera and the light weight gi as well as other branded gis. The Valiant is high quality, built like a tank, and is not as heavy or cumbersome as one might think. The black on black is sharp as well. This gi is perfect for competitions and training and will hold up to the abuse. I'm really impressed with this gi and will purchase another in the future.

Crummy Service

Had never heard of Gold Gi's, but bought one through BJJ Fanatics after looking at Gold's website. Neither company would swap gi's for me, even though I bought a size that had traditionally fit me. Gold's are quite oversized. It would have been no skin off their a** to trade me for a size that fit. I did not ask for a refund, just a trade. Worst experience buying a gi in 30 years of bjj.
